Time Out!
Spiritual growth doesn't just happen- we need to stop our endless round of activities and make the time to enter into a quieter space-a space apart. Whether you're looking for a Minute Meditation, an on-going prayer/study group, or a retreat, we hope these resources will help.
Each Thursday morning the Bible Study group meets in the rectory at 9 am to study and flesh out the scriptures for the following Sunday. Check the calendar to verify time and readings. Father also offers instruction in the Catholic Faith during the RCIA classes listed on the calendar. These opportunities are open to everyone-check them out!
Would you like to get back to the Sacrament of Reconciliation? Maybe a fresh look at the sacrament would help. Check out the Reconciliation Page.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church refers to three different "expressions" of Prayer in Chapter Three: The Life of Prayer.. The following are some resources for vocal prayer, meditation, and contemplative prayer.
Remember the prayers and practices you learned as a child? This site is provided by the company who makes the text books used in our Faith Formation classes-Faith First.
Thinking of moving from vocal prayer into meditation? Check this out on meditation basics. If you would like to teach your children to meditate click here:
This site, called Sacred Space, offers Daily Prayer online. There is even a daily meditation with commentary on the Rule of St. Benedict. Don't forget The Liturgy of the Hours, the daily prayer of the church.
In the tradition of Contemplative Prayer are Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina. Also, check the Centering Prayer Group page for local information on meetings and trainings.
Retreat Centers often offer spiritual direction, seasonal days of reflection or longer personal time away. Check out the McCabe Center in Duluth, St. Paul's Monastery in St. Paul, and the Franciscan Retreat Center in Prior Lake:
